About Me

Welcome to the Yarn Walk!!

A little about me

I am a wife and mother to 4 crazy little kids. My life can get crazy and chaotic, my solution to all the stress is crochet. It has so many benefits to my life, but it also can cause some frustrations. When raising four kids, trying to keep a home, and trying to find time to spend with my husband, going shopping for yarn isn’t the easiest task.

Enter online shopping

Online shopping is constantly growing, and yarn shopping online is getting bigger all the time. More and more of us yarn crafters, are buying our yarn online, and for so many reasons.

Local yarn shops rarely stock yarn I enjoy using (mostly because of the price, $26 a skein is hard), which leaves stores like Micheals, Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, and Walmart, for a few examples. They can lead to disappointment, running out of stock, can’t find the right color, weight, or type, and our time spent going to different stores, driving, and searching.

Online shopping fixes those issues but, has some serious drawbacks, as well. For a lot of yarn crafters the feel, the texture of a yarn can be just as important as is material content, color, and weight. I am definitely in that category. It can also be hard to be confident in the color you are buying when you buy online.

This is where I come in.

I review yarn bought online from different websites, dyers, sellers, and other wonderful ways of purchasing yarn online. I will give you honest, real reviews, giving you as much detail and information as I can, in the hopes of helping you to make confident online yarn purchases.

With our yarn we all share our love, passion, talents, and creativity with the world and the people around us, we all deserve to find and confidently purchase the yarn of our dreams, or at least the perfect yarn for that upcoming project.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Have you reviewed Yarn Bee Tender Touch or Redheart Dreamy? Making a sweater coat and considering this yarn or RedHeart Dreamy. Both are 100% acrylic and have a brushed hand.
Also I’m wondering if it would be warm enough in the Michigan winter weather.
Thank you!

I haven’t reviewed those specific yarns yet, but they are on my list.
I haven’t been lucky enough to have been through a Michigan winter, but I can tell you that both of these yarns should make a sweater warm enough. Both yarns are a bulky weight and 100% acrylic, and they will create a sweater with great insulation that should help keep you nice a warm.
I hope that helped, and if you have more questions I am more than happy to answer.
